On June 8 2024, we invited audiences to a special work-in-progress presentation of a new show, The Paper Operetta. Our story centers around a world of two-dimensional paper dolls, who are about to build the first thing to exist in the third dimension-- a human named "Z."
With lots of art, puppetry, whimsy, and a live score with nods to Gilbert & Sullivan, The Paper Operetta asks the fundamental question: what drives us to perpetually open new doors that we know we won't be able to close?
From out of this workshop comes "Tigre, Tigre," a new play touring Minneapolis to Detroit (and back again) through the fall.
